Dianne M. Zalesky is an independent consultant with over 35 years of experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse students both in the K-12 educational system and at the community college level. She was an ESL/bilingual teacher, Title III program coordinator, and teacher mentor.

Dianne has served on committees for the Illinois State Board of Education and the WIDA Consortium and has presented at state and national conferences on teaching English language learners and differentiating instruction. She is a SIOP® Trainer and has conducted professional development workshops for school districts and universities on English Language Development Standards and administration of the WIDA MODEL™, W-APT™, and ACCESS for ELLs® assessments.

Currently, Dianne is an adjunct faculty in the Department of Literacy Education at Northern Illinois University teaching reading courses to pre-service teachers and ESL/bilingual endorsement courses at the graduate level. She has a B.A. in Spanish and English from the University of Illinois, Chicago, an M.Ed. in Reading from National-Louis University, an administrative certificate from Aurora University, and holds ESL/bilingual and special education approvals. Dianne is a Doctor of Education candidate in the Department of Counseling and Higher Education at NIU.
